Local briefs from Wednesday's paper. The Marysville High boys basketball team will hold a benefit Mexican dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the school's cafeteria.

Wedding: Tipton/Osbourn (Appeal-Democrat)

Yuba City residents Megan Grace Tipton and John Kinley Osbourn were married May 31 at Hammon Grove in Browns Valley. Pastor Wayne Vincent officiated. A reception followed at the same site.

Garner goes for third-straight rodeo title (Appeal-Democrat)

Josh Garner is attempting to do what few have done before him. The Live Oak cowboy is gunning for this third-straight California High School Rodeo Association District 3 all-around championship, starting this weekend with the season opener at the Lincoln arena.

Return of the rivalry (Appeal-Democrat)

The parade no longer floats down D Street and the schools aren't the same size anymore, but bragging rights and city pride will be on the line tonight when Marysville High welcomes Yuba City into War Memorial Stadium in a revival of the Big-Little Game.
